Some don't, but most people DO!! They got an A* with the trainers, the weed socks are in with urban stylers not my thing but they still look alright. But the PJ's Get a referral! (The Shoe, Not the Vehicle)

I was reading the other day that people are throwing their Vans away when they get dirty..
MAD WORLD WE LIVE IN!!
My first pair of vans were from Schuh, they cost me £45 I had to beg, borrow and steel to eventually buy them, and to this day there is NO WAY, I would just chuck them away because of a bit of muck.

If you've got a stain a baby wipe can normally sort that out.. but if you wear your shoes to work like myself they might get a bit dirtier than you'd expect. I'm not going to hide it I work in a chip shop so you want yourself a really comfy pair of shoes as the job involves a lot of standing and running about.. and after a month or so this is how mucky and disgusting they look..

I know, gross, these cost me £30 at that price that means they're made to last, not to be thrown away, but to clean them its quick and easy,

1. Hoard some dirty bath towels.
2.Put your Vans and towels into your washing machine.
3.Put your washing powder in, and set to your daily wash, or any 30 minute cycle.

Half hour later.. They're as good as new.

People say not to put your shoes in the wash, but if you put it on a short timer your shoes wont be in there long enough to damage the drum. If you put towels in with your shoes they basically act as a cushion and also stops your laces getting caught in the drain holes. You'll also notice that the spin cycle wont be as fast as normal, Don't worry you haven't broken the washing machine.. While you're shoes are tumbling round the drum the washing machines special calculator brain will think that there is a lot of clothes on the cycle and it will automatically go slower, so panic over! SHORTshorts

I kind of change everything i own whether its old or new i have to make it individual to my taste, so you can find pretty much everything here..

I'm currently bleaching the shit out of a pair of old jeans (now shorts) here's the steps if you wanna try it at home, but word of warning i am using bleach so be responsible!

Things that i used:
  • Old washing up bowl
  • Bleach
  • An Old spray Bottle
  • Paint Brush
  • Pyramid Studs
  • Sand paper
  • Bradall (or any sharp object)
  • Scissors
  • Hair Dryer
  • Hammer
It seems like a lot of things but all together make a speedy DIY process.

1. Cut your jeans diagonally from the hip to the crotch. (I Prefer this cut as it gives you the hot pants look)

2.Score the ends of your shorts with the scissors to give it a fluffy, tasseled finish.

3.Put an able amount of bleach in the washing up bowl and fill the rest with hot water
(Make sure you've got a window open you don't want a nasty headache, trust me i know!)

4. After Rinsing and drying the shorts off, You'll notice they're a lot lighter than before so in order to get different shades of bleach on the shorts, Use the sand paper to create a porous edge on the denim. (In doing this, you're basically changing the surface of the denim allowing the bleach to soak into the fibers a lot deeper than when you had soaked them).

TIP: Use the paint brush to layer the bleach on to the porous surface, Use the hair dryer and this should speed up the process as you'll be able to see the bleaches development.

5. Once you've finished layering the bleach, Use the Bradall to pierce the denim. Make sure you turn them inside out otherwise you'll push the loose fibers inward and they'll just end up looking like holes (that's no good!).

6.Now that you've pierced through the denim, Turn the shorts back to normal and rub the sand paper over the puncture marks to Frey the loose ends.

(By Now they shouldn't really resemble how they originally looked, if the denim has the look that you want you're ready to start studding and cutting)

TIP: If you don't have a stud gun like myself I've got a technique down which should help you as well. Just make sure you've got yourself a yellow pages and a steady surface.

7. Place the pyramid studs wherever you want, push them through, turn to the opposite side and push the legs inward. Put the yellow pages on the outward side of the stud, and get the flat side of the hammer and hit as hard as you can the legs of the stud down!  -Right, if you didn't get that holla me and i'll explain in further detail.

8.Cut out patterns into the back pockets and i like to steel something I've seen, where you cut out the front pockets out, DO NOT do this, unless they are high wasted, because no body's going to want to see your knickers! aha

-The Front pocket cut out was www.stylechiq.com genius idea, not mine!

I will shortly upload photo's to help, DONT WORRY
